A stock (well, mechanically stock but with Kouki kit currently installed, factory parts available), clean, rust free, S13 in MA and only $4,500. I don’t think I have seen one in this condition in NE in my entire life .

Buy it and rice the shit out of it, drive it hard, and leave it outside all winter. To Valhalla!

I found it looking for a drift car for myself and my dad (and his friend to use instead of borrowing the Team O’Neil BMW for personal use) . As nice as it is at $4,500 it is just within “buy it and beat the shit out of it” territory.

Up until about 10 year ago when the drift kids became a thing, they all used to be like this in the Southwest. This one is crazy money for 238K. If you’re looking for one of these as a drift car, I’d shop around for one that is an old SCCA club racing car. For a long time, these were the car to have in ITA until some of miatas got classed in with us. Between being faster, and the almost unimaginable support for racing miatas as an offshoot of Spec Miata, a lot of the guys that used to race these 240 sx’s migrated to other cars (or other hobbies) . For $4500, you’re getting into the price range of old IT cars, especially ones that have been out of action for awhile and weren’t updated to the 2007 changes to the roll cage rules. In the price range, I bet you could find an old ITA car that already has a cage, seat, ect, and in terms of suspension and running gear is already much of the way to where you want to be. Just add a turbo, or whatever it is the drifters do.

I’ve seen a convertible 240SX bombing about.
It’s got some visual dents near the rear wheel wells but that looks like someone kicked the car out of spite with a steel-toe.

It’s really too clean to use for a drift car, especially when you can find a suitable G35 or 350z for around the same price. In general track cars don't make good starting points for drift cars because they are way to stiff and don't like to hold a slide. You can drift them but they tend to be on a knife edge. For the club drifting here in NE you don't even need a cage until you want to start doing tandems.

Wait, you know people from Team O'Niel Rally School? That's awesome!

My dad has been involved in the rally community since the 80s so he knows everyone at the school. I turn I have met most of the people there as well. I actually rode along in rally cars for the first time at O’Neil’s when I was about 7 and since then I have learned how to drive stick on one of the school’s Fiestas, competed in my first Rallycross on the school’s skid pad, and learned to drift when working at one of their drift schools. I haven’t yet had the opp ortunity to go hot on the stages at the school but I’m sure I will get to someday.

Car isn’t far from me. I’m pretty sure I saw it the day before he rear ended someone. Sucks. Good price for someone to have the frame pulled straight and keep driving it. Sole problem that car had was the owner.
